The Government does not intend to repeal the current Income Tax Law (...), as requested by the PCP, nor does it intend to extinguish the National Rental Desk, as requested by the Bloco de Esquerda.
Nor is it committed to amendments to the moratorium which prevents eviction of tenants until the changes currently under discussion in the housing working group, coordinated by Mrs. Helena Rosetta, are decided. It was in this same working group, where the hearings of several protagonists have taken place in recent weeks that the Secretary of State for Housing, Ana Pinho, previously called for speed in the decisions, remembering the urgency in solving the problems.
However, the coordinator of the working group, Helena Roseta, as confirmed to the PÚBLICO, the voting of the proposals no longer should happen in this legislative session. In committee, the parties agreed that only decisions on Local Accommodation should be taken before July 16th. This should be the date of delivery of housing and lease amendments, but the vote will only take place in September. (...)
It was from this confrontation that it was realized that the Government has no intention to revoke the Additional Property Tax (AIMI), which is applied to owners with assets over 1.2 million euros.
The various parties have on the table proposals for changes in the taxation of income earned under lease contracts, in order to encourage the durability of contracts or adherence to the accessible income regime. (...)
