Portugal receives a sea of nominations for the "Oscars" of European tourism

After receiving the World Gala Awards (WTA), celebrated as the "Oscars" of Tourism, Portugal, declared the "best tourist destination in the world" in December, the 2019 season begins. about a hundred and fifty of nominations for the European round of this initiative which, incidentally, also won last year.

In the list of candidates, now announced but still up-to-date, there are 145 Portuguese nominations spread across the dozens of WTA Europe categories, including a nomination in the largest European category for Portugal - which, in fact, also won this year's award past.

Among the nominees, stands out Lisbon that multiplies in nominations to top awards: not counting those destined for hotel, the capital - which was the best destination of the year in Europe in 2018 as well as the best destination city and best destination for city break in the world, is now named again in these, as well as applying to be the best cruise destination or to have the best airport, port and official tourism body.

Adding to this rain of appointments, so advantageous in media terms for national tourism, there is also an indication for Turismo de Portugal as the best European body of the sector, a prize that won last year.
