Lisbon wins European Mobility Week 2018 prize

Lisbon won the European Mobility Week award of 2018, the European Commission announced, highlighting the commitment of the municipality of the Portuguese capital to promote the environment and sustainable mobility.

The 2018 edition ended with the victory of the Portuguese city over the remaining finalists, Gdynia (Poland) and Palma (Spain).

The European Commission jury recognized the strong vision of Lisbon to promote a sustainable mobility culture and the communication effort fostered by the municipality, in collaboration with the various transport partners, to change the mobility paradigm in the city and raise citizens' awareness for the use of alternative modes of transport to the private car, "said a statement from the Lisbon Chamber, chaired by Fernando Medina (PS).
