Exploring the Algarve walking, combining the discovery of its natural landscapes with physical activity, is the invitation of the Algarve Walking Season (AWS), a hiking project in the region composed of three events.
This fall marks the third AWS event. This is the second edition of Walk & Art Fest, from November 1 to 3, in Barão de São João, in the municipality of Lagos. Each day of this event includes eight to ten short or long distance hikes dedicated to different topics as well as educational activities and animation guaranteed by local artists. The Algarve Walking Season aims to promote the main hiking events in the Algarve, highlighting the natural and cultural values of the territories as a way to enhance the sustainable tourism offer of the interior areas in periods of less tourist demand in the region. The project is promoted by the Algarve Tourist Region, under an application for the Valorizar - Tourism Support Program for the Interior.
