Algarve is the traveler's favorite destination HomeAway

HomeAway, a specialist platform for holiday accommodation, in partnership with the Center for Research in Applied Communication and New Technologies of the University Lusófona, reveals the first barometer that has as main objective to know the profile of the Portuguese traveller, who privileges local accommodation to enjoy your holiday.

The results of the study show that Portuguese travellers prefer local accommodation for longer stays (longer than seven days), as well as national destinations, with the Algarve (27.1%), North (24.5%) and Center (21.1%) make up the top 3 of the Portuguese preferences.

It should also be noted that 17% of Portuguese secondary residences are located in privileged areas of the country, such as the Algarve (17%); followed by Greater Lisbon (15%) and the Northern Region (13%).
