Real Estate: How nices are our beaches

The pandemic/telework effect has boosted demand for property in beach areas where it is possible to work remotely and have a better quality of life. Faro registered the highest increase in prices, Setúbal among the zones with the highest sales.

The second year of the pandemic brought an intensification in the rise in house sale prices to most of the district capital cities in the country, according to the most recent results of the Residential Price Index from Confidencial Imobiliário.

In 2021, Faro led the annual appreciation (+26.4%), followed by Setúbal (18.7%), Viseu (18.5%) and Aveiro (17.3%). (...)

What is certain is that house prices are increasing a little all over the country. In 2021, half of the district capitals in mainland Portugal recorded an annual appreciation of more than 10%.
