Forty-two Portuguese municipalities, mainly located in the Algarve and in the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon, recorded home sale prices higher than the national value in the third quarter of 2018, according to the National Statistics Institute (INE).
In terms of the housing price differential between municipalities, the Lisbon Metropolitan Area was the subregion (2247 € / m2), where the lowest value was in Moita (630 € / m2) and higher in Lisbon (€ 2877 / m2), followed by the Algarve, the Autonomous Region of Madeira and the region of Coimbra, which amounted to more than € 1000 / m2.
In the third quarter of 2018, over the same period, all cities with more than 100 thousand inhabitants registered a rise in housing prices. In the third quarter of 2018, the price of housing sales remained above the value of the country in the cities of Lisbon, Porto, Funchal, Coimbra and Amadora.
