Real estate: the events of the "best year ever"

Extraordinary, incredible, fantastic, the best ever. These are just some of the adjectives that any businessman or consultant related to the real estate market chooses when talking about 2018. Everything points to record highs in investment in commercial real estate and office leasing. And in the residential market, although a record is not foreseen, the volume of sales is the highest, at least since Portugal asked the Troika for help.

It comes into force now in 2019, but the package of measures designed to encourage the lease was approved two weeks ago. It includes a series of amendments and one of them defines that all incomes less than 20% of the median prices disclosed by INE will be exempt from IRS and IMI. Another states that from 2019, who lease a home on the free market for more than a year will also have reductions in the IRS that grow with the duration of the contract.
