This year, the Popular March of Lisbon celebrated the 120 years of the birth of the Lisbon actor Vasco Santana (1898-1958).According to EGEAC, the marches were evaluated with a score of 0 to 20 and in two moments.
First, at the Altice Arena, on June 1st, 2nd and 3rd, and at Avenida da Liberdade, during the past Santo António night.
The categories evaluated were Best Choreography, Stage, Costume, Lyrics, Musicality, Original Composition and Avenue Parade.
The march of Alfama stood out "alone" in several categories, such as choreography, musicality and best original composition, with the song of Alfama, EGEAC indicated.
This year's winning march, which repeats the feat for the third consecutive time, shared the victory in the categories of best costumes with Bairro Alto and Carnide, and best lyrics with Madragoa.
Alcântara won the scenery category and the marches of Bairro Alto and Madragoa won the parade category of the avenue, EGEAC announced.
The 86th edition of the Popular March of Lisbon was attended to by 23 marches: São Vicente, Alfama, Olivais, Marvila, Ajuda, Lumiar, Santo Domingo de Benfica, Alcântara, Benfica, Belém, Boavista, Madragoa, Mouraria, Bica, Graça, Bela-Flor Campolide, Carnide, Castle, Penha de França, Campo de Ourique, Alto do Pina, Bairro Alto and Santa Engrácia.
This year, the initiative counts on the invited march of Vila da Lousã.
