Praia do Carvoeiro elected the best in Europe

The Algarvian beach of Carvoeiro was considered the best by the European Best Destination site.

"Carvoeiro beach is probably one of the best beaches we have seen during our travels in Europe." This is how the 2018 evaluation of the European Best Destination website starts. In a list of the best European beaches, the highlight goes to the Portuguese beach.

"The sea is beautiful, the water is neither too hot nor too cold, the waves can be strong or calm enough for a bit of paddling and to discover the caves on the cliffs around the coast," the description continues.

The list also includes a second Portuguese destination: the beach of Fuseta, in Olhão.

In addition to the Portuguese beaches, the list of 15 European destinations also includes Greek, Irish and Spanish beaches.
