Algarve continues to be one of the safest destinations in the world

The seminar "Algarve, a safe destination" has made Portimão a meeting point and a privileged debate on security and protection in the Algarve. The purpose of this initiative was to reflect jointly on the policies, measures and actions that continue to make the region one of the safest tourist sites in the world.

This initiative of the government department of the Internal Administration, Câmara de Portimão, Algarve Tourist Region and Safe Communities Portugal once again confirms, through the interventions of all participating entities, that the Algarve continues to be one of the safest destinations of the world. Crime in the region continues to decline, having effectively surpassed the rest of the country over the last 10 years, but all the agents are committed to continuing working in a "network" in order to guarantee the safety and protection of the resident population and tourists.
