Houses in Lisbon more expensive 22% than in the country

According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), in September, the price increased by 9 euros compared to August and now the national average price is 1205 euros per square meter.

This is the national average but there are regions such as the Algarve that show valuations 30% higher than the national average and in Lisbon the price of houses evaluated by the banks is 22% above the average of the country, which means that on average, the square meter in Lisbon was in September 1470 euros.

According to the Index of the average banking valuation, in September, in addition to the Algarve, and the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, the Autonomous Region of Madeira and Alentejo Litoral also presented higher values ​​than the national average (11% and 4% above the registered for the Country, respectively).

On the other hand, the region of Alto Alentejo was the one that presented the lowest value in relation to the national average (-34%).

INE also distinguishes apartments and houses. "In the month under review, the average value of bank evaluation of apartments was 1 264 euros per square meter," read in the INE bulletin.
