WaterKings returns to Lagos, taking place on May 26 and 27 at Meia Praia, promising 12 consecutive hours of water sports, including kitesurfing, windsurfing, stand-up paddle and sailing.
This is a "unique and pioneering worldwide event that joins teams that will meet and alternate between four different nautical modalities - kitesurfing, windsurfing, stand up paddle and light sailing - for 12 hours nonstop", explains the organization.
WaterKings "wants to re-test the stamina, know-how and teamwork of the most fearless in a challenge that will reveal who the true men and women of the sea are, rewarding those who overcome the challenge and crowning the fastest."
From 12.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. on the 26th, it will be 12 hours in the water, around a circuit with a well-defined objective: to be able to complete 60% of the number of laps of the first ones and obtain the status of "Water Man / Woman" or aim to the top and win the title of "WaterKing".
In a co-organization of Câmara de Lagos and Lufinha Sports Events, WaterKings «shows the qualities of the city of Lagos as a privileged destination for nautical sports, while offering an innovative and daring challenge to sportsmen».
"The first two editions of WaterKings were a real success and the City Council decided to re-bet on this third edition. We are very committed and pleased to re-organize the event at Meia Praia. We already had an edition with little wind, another with much and you never know what awaits us ... events in the Sea are like this ", says Francisco Lufinha, organizer of this challenge.
The third edition of WaterKings has the support of DocaPesca - Ports and Lots, Marina Club Lagos Resort, Sopromar, Lagos Sailing Club, among others.
