A study of the real estate Century 21, quoted by Le Figaro, compares the real estate surfaces that can be bought in 35 cities of 26 countries with a budget of 300 thousand euros. Lisbon is ranked 19th among the most expensive cities, followed closely by Porto, which occupies the 21st place.
According to the study, which limited the analysis to markets where Century 21 is present, 300 thousand euros allow to buy a villa of 600 square meters (m2) in Cape Town, South Africa. In London, the city most the same money only makes it possible to buy a studio of 18 m2.
Among the most expensive cities, besides London, are the United States (20 m2) and San Francisco (28 m2), Paris (31 m2) and Munich (35 m2).
In Lisbon, with that budget it is possible to acquire an apartment of 85 m2, while in Porto the area rises to 97 m2.
Prices in Lisbon are slightly cheaper than in Montreal, Canada, where the 300 thousand euros allow to buy a house with 84 m2, and Prague (80 m2). Somewhat surprisingly, prices in the Portuguese capital are identical to those in the Slovak capital, Bratislava, and higher than those in cities such as Brussels (100 m2), Sydney (114 m2) or Dubai (120 m2).
The cheapest cities, in addition to Cape Town, are Tirana, the Albanian capital, where 300 thousand euros allow to buy a property with 500 m2 and Mexico City (219 m2).
